About Amanda Healy

In 2001 I gave up full time work to embark on my creative journey; I started with an art access course at Preston College, in Lancashire and then in 2002 started my degree course.

I graduated from University of Central Lancashire in July 2005 with a BA (Hons) degree in 3D design. While at University I concentrated on developing my throwing skills. In October 2005 I spent three weeks working in Hungary at the international ceramics studio in Kecskemet. I spent this time developing my sculptural work, it was a particularly inspiring time.

Clay is an exceptional medium to explore creativity, it releases you and lets your spirit free. Through clay I am investigating my longstanding relationship with horses and my efforts to understand them and communicate with them. Horses are so familiar yet possess an age old mystique. My aim is to pass on the essence and spirit of these wonderful creatures through my work.
